Makar Dominates Norris Again!
The Unyielding Talent of Cale Makar
Colorado Avalanche’s star defenseman, Cale Makar, clinched the coveted Norris Trophy once more, further affirming his elite status in the NHL. His standout season consisted of 30 goals and 62 assists over 80 competitive fixtures, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Leading the Pack with Authority
Throughout the season, Makar was in unparalleled form, leading all defensemen in both goals and points. His performance not only solidified his position but also amassed 1,861 points in the Norris Trophy voting process, illustrating his supremacy over close rival Zach Werenski from the Columbus Blue Jackets, who trailed with 1,266 points.
Peer Recognition: Makar at the Pinnacle
Makar’s efforts did not go unacknowledged. He secured an overwhelming majority with 176 first-place votes from media professionals. Comparatively, Werenski earned a modest 13 votes, and Quinn Hughes, the prior year’s winner, managed only two. This year marked the absence of Finnish contenders in the voting rounds.
Strengthening Legacy in Professional Hockey
This accolade reinforces Makar’s already impressive reputation, having previously captured the Norris Trophy during the 2021-2022 season. His consistent presence among award finalists showcases his profound impact and ongoing contributions to the world of professional hockey.
