Kalto’s extensive experience exceeds 500 games in the SM-liiga, having established his reputation with top teams like HIFK and Blues. Prior to this role, he served as development director for HIFK’s junior program, praised for both his coaching acumen and his rapport with young athletes.

In tandem with Kalto’s appointment, Ilves secured a long-standing relationship with sports director Timo Koskela, extending his contract until spring 2028. Koskela, credited with leading the team to multiple bronze medals, particularly this past season, focuses on strengthening Ilves’ competitive stance.
