The Edmonton Oilers have officially secured the acquisition of forward Roby Järventie, offering him a one-year, two-way deal. This contractual agreement enables him to earn $775,000 while competing in the NHL and $125,000 if playing in the minors.
Injury-Plagued Season
This past season was marred by a knee injury for Järventie, restricting him to just two appearances with the Bakersfield Condors, the Oilers’ AHL affiliate, where he successfully recorded two assists. His NHL experience includes a stint with the Ottawa Senators, during which he notched one assist over seven games.
Transition from Europe
Järventie’s career progression in North America commenced in the 2021-22 season. Originally poised to continue his professional journey with Tappara in Finland, Järventie decided to seize the opportunity with the Oilers. This decision necessitated a termination of his initial Finnish contract, paving the way for his latest NHL endeavor.
