In a strategic move, Geneva-Servette of the Swiss ice hockey league is revamping its coaching lineup for the coming season. The team has signed Ville Peltonen and Pekka Kangasalusta, distinguished Finnish coaches, to join forces with current head coach Yorick Treille and assistant coach Pierre Allard. This expanded team is poised to steer Geneva-Servette towards improved results.

Strategic Coaching Additions

Ville Peltonen, who will take on the role of primary assistant coach, arrives with extensive experience from previous posts in Switzerland’s ice hockey sphere. His previous tenures as assistant coach of SC Bern and head coach at Lausanne HC highlight his capability to contribute significantly to Geneva-Servette’s mission.

Kangasalusta’s Tactical Insights

Pekka Kangasalusta adds more strategic depth to the team, with his recent experience as assistant coach for the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. His accustomed approach to Swiss ice hockey tactics further fortifies the coaching team’s outlook for enhanced player development and match strategies.

Aiming for Competitive Excellence

As Geneva-Servette looks ahead, the coaching team’s one-year contracts put a focused time frame on their objectives. Sports Director Marc Gautschi is hopeful that the fusion of Peltonen’s and Kangasalusta’s skills will be pivotal in turning around the team’s disappointing 12th place finish last season. He anticipates that with their combined efforts, the club will ascend in the rankings of the highly competitive league this year.
